Day 20

Bridesmaid dresses are picked out! OMG I can't believe it!
Went to David's Bridal with 4 of my girls (one was missing for the day) and the woman who helped us kinda showed us a bunch of different styles and such and if they liked em, they tried em on. They each probably had about two each to try on. My cousin comes out in her first one and Justin's sister goes "oh thats cute!" so she tries it on. My best friend and my sister like it and they try it on too. They all looked so pretty! My sister didn't even look like hers needed to be altered in any way. It was the perfect height, fitted her comfortably, it was cool. And they were set! I asked if they wanted to try more on, wanted to go to another store, and they just said no they were set. The dress was $155 so it's not too expensive either! (compared to my dress anyway, lol) So the woman wrote down measurements and colors, and I have to bring my missing bridesmaid to try it on too, then they have to order the dress.
Very excited, and I cannot believe it took us 45 minutes to find a dress!

Day 12

Bathroom stuff has been ordered! I thought that we (oh alright, my mom gave me the idea) to start buying some things for the house whenever we come across it. Just in case it's something we really want and it might be gone with something new replacing it by the time we get around to finding a house, which might not be until late summer, early fall. But I did get to create the bathroom (with permission from Justin since it'll be his too) so I bought the shower curtain, three piece toilet cover set, and a 3 piece hand towel set. All cherry blossom themed! I'm thinking of painting the walls a real light green, really pale, and I also found a nice wall decal that would look real pretty if it'll fit. Not buying that until we get an actual bathroom. I also found a nice shower rug so we don't slip getting out of the tub but that might have to wait until my next credit card statement comes in ^_^
In two weeks I am mailing the contract and the deposit to our cake vendor for our cake. just need to print out pictures of the key idea that is being included in our design for her (our cake will have cherry blossoms and little keys dangling off the branches. If anyone can guess where the keys came from, you get a cookie).
Saving up money for my dress ^^ Super excited! Probably in the next paycheck or two I'll have enough to bring down with me. Also going dress shopping for my bridesmaids this weekend. Kind of upset that one bridesmaid will not be there, but it'll work out.

Day 3

Reception was picked. Fantasia. Real nice place and REAL pretty garden. Second deposit is not due until September so...plenty of time ^^
Wedding Registry was completed (almost) today at Kohl's and Bed, Bath and Beyond. The woman who helped us there was super nice. Not just a point the gun, scan the barcode and off you go. Nope. She really helped. She walked around with us, helping us figure out what we would need, how many in case of company, really listening to us, which was nice. We gotta go back during the week to finish but it was still a fun day.
Cake vendor is pretty much picked. The woman we went for a cake tasting with was pretty much the female Duff from Ace of Cakes on the Food Network. Her cakes were delicious!!! And she knew exactly what we were looking for in our cake too. We tried white chocolate raspberry and cookies and cream flavors for the cakes. One tier is going to be the white chocolate raspberry, and the rest of the cake would be cookies and cream. And we're incorporating cherry blossoms (our theme) with Kingdom Hearts to give the cake our video game feel.
Justin has opened up a lot more now and he smiles and gets excited after every thing we get accomplished. He likes that we are closer to our goal.
I'm happy that he is happy.

Day 1

In Japan and China, if a bride and groom make 1,000 paper cranes together it will bring good luck to their marriage.
Today is marking officially one year...one year until I am a wife, one year until I get to say "I do" in front of all the people I love, declaring my loyalty and faithfulness and love to one lucky guy I've been with for over 6 years. And it's finally time to do so!
Our theme of the wedding is cherry blossoms. They bring a good omen of fortune, happiness, life, and love; all good things everyone should have in their lives. So what better way to start this countdown than by beginning with our paper cranes! Since cherry blossoms are pink the paper cranes will be pink as well. They will be strewn about the tables, maybe down the aisle of the church, all over the floor, who knows? This blog will also be a countdown to the wedding with updates on everything we've done, experience, and paid for. Will we make our countdown of 1,000 pink paper cranes, get our wedding, honeymoon, and housing all done by then? Will we still have our sanity?? Who knows! All I know is I'm enjoying the ride
